Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Naciha Pozdr and Mostar Mayor Mario Kordic signed in Mostar the contract for the completion of the works, namely the final commissioning of the wastewater treatment plant at the Ubolak landfill, worth DM 366,000.
The Minister noted that this was in the interest of the Ubolrak landfill, the city as a whole and other areas and she was pleased that a positive step could finally be taken.
– I don’t think we will stop here. We still have some challenges ahead, and soon there will be a public debate related to the new environmental license for Ubolrak and the next budget planning. We are already planning the next step to support Mostar, Minister Bozd emphasized.
The mayor of Mostar also expressed satisfaction with the signed contract and said it was the first prerequisite for closing the area.
– This contract actually represents the beginning of the landfill adaptation plan that we have been waiting for many years, as it is the first prerequisite for the closure of the site. I am grateful and looking forward to the public hearing of the new environmental permit, where we more or less resolve all the existing questions or concerns. I hope that the residents of the northern part of the city will also recognize this desire, ambition and willingness to finally solve the landfill problem and support such a document so that we can all start its implementation as soon as possible. “, said Kordic.
“We are all on the same side, we all have the same desire, which is to solve the landfill problem in the city of Mostar,” said the mayor of Mostar.
