Prince William has been given new responsibilities and will inherit the mantle of his grandfather Prince Philip and serve as the “executor” role of the royal family.

According to new reports, the role will help the Prince of Wales deal with his “rebellious” brother Prince Harry, who continues to pose a challenge to the royal family.

Royal expert Jenny Bond told OK! magazine that Prince William’s difficult childhood and strong character enabled him to take firm stances on issues including those of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew.

“William has always been a strong man,” the expert said. “I think his broken childhood made him strong and decisive. He is now known for his stubbornness and once he makes up his mind, he sticks to it.”

She added: “Obviously, as heir to the throne, his words carry a lot of weight in the family and I think he is really prepared to take strong stances on a number of issues, including with Andrew and Harry.

“I’m not so sure he’s the ‘new lawman.’ But he’s certainly a well-respected member of the family, and his opinions carry considerable weight.”

Bond went on to point out how “discipline” in the royal family “collapsed” after Prince Philip’s death, highlighting how William had to take over the role.

“There’s a sense that William has taken over the role of Prince Philip,” the expert told the publication.

She concluded: “Philip ruled the family with an iron fist and you could see discipline falling apart after he died. Now William is calling the shots in terms of family discipline.”
