Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took a major decision to improve cricket and team performance and made it mandatory for every player to play domestic cricket every three months and fitness test which included zero tolerance for discipline but decided not to give any position to players who did not meet the performance standards.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi chaired the three-hour long meeting in which various suggestions for improving cricket were considered and in which coaches Gary Kirsten, Jason Gillespie, Azhar Mehmood, COO PCB Salman Naseer, members of the selection committee participated.

Approved the inclusion of Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie on the Silicon Committee, fitness tests for players every 3 months and mandatory domestic cricket.

It was decided not to reduce the number of central contracts for the time being, and the term of central contracts will be one year.

Players will be included in different categories of central contracts according to the prescribed procedures, and NOCs will be issued to players who meet the procedures by determining the technical procedures for issuing NOCs for participating in the league.

On the occasion, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that there will be no compromise on discipline and there should be unity within the team and grouping of players will not be tolerated and the management should take strict action on grouping.

He added that players who don’t follow the rules won’t have a place in the team and let Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie go, hoping both can excel.

The meeting proposed plans to upgrade high-performance centers and improve the quality of coach training, while also building high-performance centers in Islamabad and Peshawar.
