Professor Wen believes that bringing together people from different backgrounds is essential to addressing global challenges. “The world faces many complex challenges, and uniting educated minds is essential to meeting them,” he noted. “Our goal is to make Malaysia a hub for international students, integrating different perspectives and building a resilient and sustainable future.”
Aware that students may feel homesick or miss the local food, he emphasised Taylor’s commitment to supporting international students from the moment they arrive. Staff receive professional training to better understand students’ backgrounds and help them adjust through a comprehensive orientation programme, tailored academic support and practical help with housing, visa and immigration procedures.
On campus, students are encouraged to discover their passions and voice their opinions through focus groups and advisory boards. “Student representation is an integral part of our university,” says Winn. “We respect students’ perspectives and work hard to equip them with the skills to succeed and contribute to their communities.”
Real-world courses
