A financing scheme has been launched for workers and small businesses in Khedhufushi

The City Council has launched a new program called the Worker and Small Business Finance Program to help increase the number of workers, start new businesses and expand small businesses in the city.

The scheme is for three years and has a maximum of Rs 1 lakh (Rs 100,000) and a grace period of six months.

The main objectives of the financing scheme are to develop workers and increase village productivity, promote technological entrepreneurs, expand small businesses and create new entrepreneurs, improve livelihoods of the people, provide income generation to the disadvantaged and empower women economically.

The financing program provides assistance in the following areas:
1. Your own products and works
2. Carpentry and Woodworking
3. Fisheries
4. Sewing and weaving
5. Handicrafts
6. Event Management
7. Tourism
8. Packaging and manufacturing
9. Electrical wiring and maintenance
10. Repair, welding and garage work
11. Food production
12. Photography and videography
13. Beauty and makeup
14. Agriculture
15. Information and Communication Technology
16. Sports and Fitness
17. Provide education
18. Import and export trade
19. Creative Arts and Music

The scheme is open to people between the ages of 18 and 65. Self-employed individuals, new businesses and small businesses registered with Khedhufushi are also welcome. In addition, 50% of the funds allocated under the scheme are reserved for women.

The deadline for submitting planning applications is 14:00 on August 15, 2024. Applications can be submitted over the counter at the council office or by email.

Two meetings will be held to provide information about the program. The women’s meeting will be held on 21 July 2024 at 20:30 and the men’s meeting will be held on 22 July 2024 at 20:30 in the lower lobby of the NOC building.

The plan is very broad and targets a wide range of activities and businesses. This will further expand economic activity in the city, increase employment opportunities and increase people’s income.
