As the video cuts to Reynolds on land, the woman can be heard shouting in an anguished voice: “I can’t swim! I can only float.”
“Stop, seriously, you’re really scaring me. I’m going to kill myself. She said she was drowning,” Reynolds told her companions.
“I don’t know!” Reynolds said, to which one of his male friends responded, “I think you did just murder someone,” before the five ran off laughing.
The video cuts to a group of people sitting in a car, with Reynolds covering her mouth with her hand and her friend saying “this is really bad” as a fire truck drives by in the direction they had just left.
The Austin Fire Department wrote on X that EMTs and firefighters responded to Lady Bird Lake on Wednesday for a “medical call.”
“There was no water rescue on Lady Bird Lake. The individual was out of the water and the incident was downgraded to a medical rescue,” the department said.

“These people only care about getting content and nothing else,” said another in a comment that received 1.4K “likes.”
“To them, that woman wasn’t a person. She was just a prop. And yet, all of a sudden, this ‘prop’ starts asking for help, and for the first time these assholes realize they’re putting a real person’s life in danger.”
Others said they hope Reynolds will face consequences for his actions.
“Watching you convince that woman to jump in the water and then jokingly run away while she was in pain? Hope you go to jail laughing,” one viewer wrote under Reynolds’ latest Instagram post, which showed a photo of Reynolds dragging a shark out of the sea.
