One MHK said he was disappointed that the island had not been able to hold a referendum on assisted dying and he stood by his point, asking voters to contact him via social media.
Onchan member Rob Callister posted on Facebook asking people to tell him if they support or oppose the bill currently being considered in Tynwald.
He asked people to send him a private message saying “yes”, “no” or “not sure” before Dr Alex Allinson’s Private Member’s Bill gets its third reading in the House later this month.
Mr Callister said he would check the names against the Onkeng voters list to ensure the social media user was from his area and said people outside Onkeng should contact their own MHK.
