The arrested suspects are from Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, told ANI that the police have detained five suspects who were found in possession of radioactive materials and a radiography camera.
He mentioned that when the authorities tried to open the box, the suspect warned that it might be difficult to open it due to the radioactive chemicals inside. During the interrogation, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh told ANI that the suspect planned to exchange the radioactive material box for crores of rupees.
The National Security Agency said that after investigation, the intelligence agencies and the National Disaster Relief Foundation team found that the box contained radioactive materials.
