Bandos Island, Boras Island and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2024 Resorts League North Malay Region.
Bandos defeated Var by Atmosphere 4-0 in the North Malay Zone quarterfinals at One and Only Rithi Rang. Ahmad Shamim, Ahmad Rihan and Ibrahim Musher scored two goals. Bandos’ Shamim was named the Player of the Match.
In the second quarter of the match, Barossa defeated Olga Art Resort Maldives in a penalty shootout. The game ended with neither team scoring. Barossa then won the penalty shootout 3-2. Barossa goalkeeper Hussein Shahzam was named the best player of the match.
The Ritz-Carlton also secured a place in the semi-finals after defeating Oblu Select Sangeli 5-2 on penalties in the quarter-finals. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Ahmed Adham of the Ritz scored in the 13th minute, but Misa Mohammed equalized for Sani in the second half. Ahmed Kiram Abdul Sattar of the Ritz-Carlton was named the best player of the tournament.
With this result, the place in the semi-finals has been secured. The semi-finals will be held on Sunday. The second semi-final will be between Barossa and Ritz-Carlton.
