For many book lovers, nothing Like an old fashioned A bound paper book. But in the digital age, finding a new home for your pile of books can be difficult.
Thankfully, there are two local organizations that accept donations of used books, with proceeds going to worthy causes.
this Montclair University Women’s Club (26 Park Street, Montclair) is a 501c3 nonprofit that collects used books, audiobooks, CDs and even sheet music. Volunteers organize sales of thousands of items twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Proceeds go to support young women in financial need. Donations for the fall sale are accepted on select Saturdays through the end of August.
Book Warehouse (18 Pocono Road, Denville) is also a 501c3 and accepts donations of adult, teen and children’s books, puzzles, toys, clothing and media items. All staff are volunteers and proceeds are donated to local charities. Check the Book Barn website for updated hours (currently Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday) and other information.
Other options include the Salvation Army, Goodwill, a local library hosting a book sale, or asking a nearby Little Free Library.
