The Dhvehi National Restoration Project has been presented to various institutions. The first meeting was held for staff from various disciplines at the Islamia University (IUM) in Dhaka.

In his opening remarks, Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Minister Adam Naseer Ibrahim said this was the first meeting to inform another body outside the ministry about the nationality project. The minister called it an additional complement to the work as Islam is one of the most important foundations of Dhivehi nationalism.

The meeting focused on the definition of nationalism, its divisions and what educational institutions can do about it. They also discussed ways to strengthen this work.

“The purpose of these meetings is to share the government’s perspective on nationalism. Consultations are sought with people from different disciplines. More than 600 people have been informed about nationalism in various meetings held in the office,” said Minister of Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim.

The meeting was attended by Dr. AK, Vice Chancellor of Islamia University. Ali Zahir, lecturers, researchers and staff of the university were also present. After the presentation, the participants expressed their questions and feelings about the presentation.

The participants noted that this work is currently very useful to the country and the presentation contains important information that all Dhanvantaris should know.

“The language of nationalism is slowly weakening. This de-institutionalized way of exchanging ideas and sharing thoughts is an opportunity to develop nationalist ideas. We have learned how to change people’s views on nationalism from a scientific perspective,” the conference participants noted.

The Department of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage said that many such projects will be taken up in the future. The aim is to inculcate and maintain the love of nationalism in the hearts of people.

The President has been able to restore Dhivehi nationality or Dhivehi identity. The President established the National Dhivehi Heritage Research Centre on January 18 this year under a five-year national project. As part of the Dhvehi nationalism restoration project, the centre will carry out a five-year field research project. The project also includes the establishment of the Dhivehi National College of Higher Learning and the National Printing House.
