The Maldives Immigration Department has arrested another 15 foreigners in a hunt for illegal immigrants.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Maldives Immigration Department and Dhaka Police.
Police said as part of the operation, they checked three retail outlets and takeaway coffee shops in Malay and Uppsala on July 8. Nine foreigners were detained by immigration.
In addition, during the operation on July 9, four such premises were searched and six foreigners were detained.

An owner of a large number of retail outlets was arrested on Monday evening in a joint operation by the Immigration Department and the police to curb the illegal trade in Sri Lanka.
The government has given special priority to arresting illegal foreigners working in Sri Lanka. Interior Minister Ali Ihsan said he will not rest until the illegal immigration problem is resolved.
