Police conduct firearms training in the north tonight

Northern Police are warning residents not to panic if they see officers near schools tonight.

The Northern Community Policing Group said on Facebook that the tactical firearms unit will train with blank ammunition at Ramsey Grammar School tonight.

Police said the move was to help firearms officers be fully prepared to respond to all emergencies and provide valuable training through the use of the new training grounds.

They said nearby residents need not worry.
