PES Podgorica: Milatovic’s MPs are looking for an excuse to join forces with the DPS

PES Podgorica concluded that “an agreement is still far away”, although all that remains is to formalize the already reached verbal agreement and turn it into an agreement, which indicates a conclusion that this councillor club does not want. PES Podgorica announced that it does not want an agreement.

“That is, Milatović’s MPs are clearly closer to the opposition’s initiative to overthrow the Podgorica municipality than to reaching an agreement with the existing majority in the capital. This would not be surprising if there is an open cooperation between the president of our country and the opposition at the state level,” they noted in Fact-finding in Podgorica.

They added that, despite the fact that the PES showed great patience in the negotiations and accepted all reasonable demands for the sake of political stability, after a few days of delay, the Podgorica Movement MPs pointed to the “irresponsible behavior of some members of the PES at previous meetings” as the reason for their change of opinion.

“After all, citizens know better who is actually irresponsible and who, by refraining from signing an agreement that accurately contains the demands of the Podgorica movement, is simply looking for an excuse to join forces with the Democratic Party and other opposition parties”, I believe in PES Podgorica.

However, they say that since the citizens of Podgorica have already achieved convincing victories in several electoral processes, with the Democratic Party and parties closely associated with it winning, the same will happen in future elections.

“An electoral defeat for those who wanted to return the Democratic Party to power after only one year in the new municipality would also be convincing, as citizens will not tolerate someone playing with their trust in this way. At the same time, it would be an opportunity for the president to convince himself of the legitimacy of the elections, after his MPs, together with the opposition, overthrew the current majority in Podgorica”, concludes PES Podgorica.
