Colombia advances to semi-finals, 5 goals ahead of Panama

Kathmandu, June 23. Colombia beat Panama 5-0 to advance to the semi-finals of the 2024 America’s Cup.

Colombia won easily in the quarterfinals at State Farm Arena in Arizona on Sunday morning.

Colombia scored three goals in the first half and two in the second. For his part, Juan Cordoba scored in the 8th minute to take the lead. James Rodriguez scored from the penalty spot in the 15th minute and Luis Diaz scored in the 41st minute. Likewise, Richard Rios scored in the 70th minute and Miguel Barbalza scored in the 4th minute of injury time.

Colombia has reached the Copa America semi-finals for the second time in a row. Previously, in the 2021 Copa America, Colombia lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout in the semi-finals. Subsequently, Argentina won the championship.

Colombia will now face the winner between Brazil and Uruguay in the semi-finals.
