The Minister of Interior of Montenegro announced that Montenegro attaches great importance to regional and international cooperation, especially in the field of protection and rescue Danilo Saranovich.
Saranovic took part in a cross-border field exercise in Berane today on the theme of forest fire and flood rescue, which was organized within the project “RESCOMM – Resilient Communities”, which is part of the Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro cross-border cooperation program and funded by the European Union.
“This cross-border rescue field exercise for forest fires and floods aims to test and apply the knowledge and skills acquired by rescuers in various trainings held within the project, to test the interoperability and collaboration between teams, and the use of new technologies and equipment. Unmanned aerial vehicles and multifunctional robotic systems) and the use of firefighting aircraft: Bell 412 helicopters and Air Tractor 802A aircraft of the Air Helicopter Unit,” explained the Ministry of the Interior.
Saranovich expressed satisfaction with the holding of this important cross-border exercise.
“These and similar events confirm that Montenegro attaches great importance to regional and international cooperation, especially in the field of protection and rescue. In addition to the exchange of knowledge and experience, I am sure that this will contribute to improving the quality of personnel engaged in such responsible work,” said Sharanovich.
Assistant Director for Protection and Rescue Measures, Sarajevo Canton Mirsad Medici Praising the cooperation with Montenegro in the field of protection and rescue, it was stressed that this exercise is an additional contribution to this cooperation.
“I expect our cooperation to become even closer in the coming period, as natural disasters know no borders,” Medici said.

Head of the Berane Protection and Rescue Service Milosav Korac Stating that the exercise was going according to plan, he was satisfied with the turnout. He announced that the exercise covered all accident scenarios and for the first time demonstrated the use of a helicopter in a fire situation.
The exercise involved 120 participants, including six fire rescue vehicles, six all-terrain vehicles for transporting rescue personnel and equipment, two four-wheel drive vehicles, a Bell 412 helicopter and a tractor 802A aircraft, a multifunctional robotic system and drones,” the ministry’s announcement concluded.
