Family of missing teenager Jay Slater posted a new photo of him, continuing to express hope for their reunion.
The 19-year-old girl was last seen in Tenerife Lived in June 17 at Airbnb in MascaHe told his friend Lucy Law that he planned to walk back to the south of the island before his phone died.
This led to a massive search operation, which was called off last Sunday after no trace of the teenager, from Lancashire, was found.
His mother, Debbie Duncan, made her first public comments since the search ended and released new photos of her son She called her “pretty boy”.
She said: “My son Jay Dean Slater arrived on the holiday island of Tenerife with his friends on June 13 to attend a music festival.
“He was reported missing on June 17 after he did not return to the flat. Jay was a normal person, in the third year of his apprenticeship, he was a very popular young man with many friends.”
“We are a very close family and are devastated by his disappearance. We cannot put into words the pain and suffering we are going through. He was our sweet baby and had his whole life ahead of him and we just want to find him.”
A Spanish forensic team turned up at the Airbnb apartment where Jay was last seen, and today his father, Warren Slater, and mother, Debbie Duncan, spent several hours with officers at Tenerife police headquarters.
Speak when leaving a meeting Debbie told investigators: “We know nothing about the investigation. We leave the matter to the police.”
She added: “Let’s get on with it, let’s keep it going. Let them (police) keep doing it, we have to trust these people.”
Lancashire Police, Jay’s home police force, said today they were “willing” to assist Spanish authorities if required.
