LV Care Group has been awarded the contract to provide services at Summerhill View, following the completion of a comprehensive tender and procurement process to commission a long-term independent supplier to deliver services at the new building.
Summerhill View is a new 60 bed state of the art residential care home located on Victoria Road. The new home replaces Reayrt ny Baie on Albert Terrace in Douglas which was outdated and unsuitable for staff and residents.
The contract for the services at Summerhill View has been awarded to LV Care Group, a well-established nursing and home care provider on the Isle of Man, which is also investing in the development of new services on the island.
Manx Care will work with LV Care to ensure Summerhill View opens efficiently. They will also ensure that the transition of Reayrt ny Baie residents to Summerhill View is managed in a careful and caring manner.
The staff team and residents at Reayrt ny Baie have been informed of the new provider at Summerhill View and discussions are continuing to ensure that every staff member and resident has the opportunity to discuss their individual circumstances. A social care assessment is being carried out on each resident to ensure that individual needs are being met.
It may take some time to confirm a move date as staff need to be trained on the operation, LV needs to complete Summerhill View’s registration, and detailed plans need to be developed to ensure the safe relocation of residents moving from Reayrt ny Baie. The facility is scheduled to open in November 2024.
