Kathmandu, June 17. Electronic machines will be used to vote for the leadership of the Communist Party of Nepal (UCPN) United Socialist Party. A demonstration of electronic voting was also given by members of the party’s central secretariat.
The 13-member presiding committee of the 10th National Congress was constituted under the chairmanship of Janat Khanal. The committee decided to conduct the voting of the Congress through electronic means.
The closed-door session of the 10th National Congress began on Sunday and will be held today. The leadership selection process will begin after the closed-door session. The election is likely to be a contest between Madhav Kumar Nepal and Ghanshyam Bhushar.
Besides, a 15-member discussion record committee of the party headed by Dr. Jagannath Khatiwada, Dr. Gangalal Tuladhar and Dr. Vijay Paudal has also been formed.
