Delhi rains: AAP government announces Rs 10 lakh compensation to families of drowning victims | Indian News

New Delhi: The Delhi government on Friday announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of all those who drowned in the extreme rainfall in the national capital.

Delhi Minister Aatish said in an official communication to the revenue department that several people were reported to have drowned on June 28 following extreme rainfall in Delhi.

Atishi said in a post on X, “On June 28, 228 mm of rainfall was received in 24 hours and several deaths have been reported. All the families of the victims will be given Rs 10 lakh as compensation.”



Minister Aatish directed the ACS Revenue Department to identify the victims with the support of local hospitals and Delhi Police. She also directed in the letter that the above compensation be immediately provided to them on behalf of GNCTD.

“ACS Revenue has been directed to identify the victims with the support of local hospitals and Delhi Police and immediately provide them with the said compensation on behalf of GNCTD,” she added in the letter.
