Indian cabinet ministers told a news conference that Atish’s indefinite hunger strike had entered its fourth day and her health was deteriorating.

Delhi Cabinet ministers have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to resolve the capital’s water crisis on priority, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Monday.

Indian cabinet ministers said at a press conference that Atish’s indefinite hunger strike has entered its fourth day and her health is deteriorating.

The ministers held a meeting at the Bogar hunger strike site in Jhanpura and decided to write to the Prime Minister to seek a solution to the issue.

“We have also invited Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and all officials to Wazirabad in Bawana to check the flow meter readings and see the water level in the river there. There is data on the amount of water released by Haryana and they can see with their own eyes how the amount of water has been reduced,” he said.

The minister insisted that Delhi should get its due water and announced that a candlelight procession would be held that evening in support of Aatish’s indefinite hunger strike.
