The new headquarters of Hiteco, a Scm Group company specializing in the development and production of high-tech mechatronic components for machine tool manufacturing companies, has been inaugurated in Rimini (Corpolò).
Founded in 1977 in Villa Verucchio as an internal department to supply the Group’s machines for processing wood and other materials with components (electrospindles, double swivel heads, drill bits and aggregates), Hiteco has experienced continuous growth over the decades, also thanks to increasing exports to Europe, Asia and North America, where the company opened its own commercial branches in 2020. Continuous development has made Hiteco one of the largest global manufacturers of high-tech components for CNC machines dedicated to the processing of a wide range of materials such as wood, plastics, composites, glass, stone and metal. Today, Hiteco is a company 100% owned by the Scm Group, with a turnover of around 40 million euros, more than half of which comes from third parties.
The new headquarters in Rimini have a total area of 9,000 square meters, compared to the previous one in Villa Verucchio, which had an area of 3,000 square meters, of which more than 7,000 square meters are dedicated to the production area. The investment by the Scm Group will allow Hiteco to increase its workforce and will favor greater efficiency in both production (entirely Made in Italy) and R&D activities. These projects focus in particular on the development of new digital services, IoT systems and smart products equipped with artificial BroadCast Unitedligence algorithms, as well as on expanding the scope in the stone, glass and metal processing sectors from an Industry 5.0 perspective. More space and greater competitiveness in Italian and foreign markets will also translate into more frequent collaborations with schools, universities and professional training institutions, and greater growth opportunities for its collaborators, also thanks to the training courses offered by Campus Scm Group to Hiteco and all the Group companies. Emphasis was also placed on the sustainability of the new headquarters, which is equipped with a 356 kWp photovoltaic system, and on the link with the history of the area: in fact, the construction works made it possible to find and recover archaeological sites and discoveries from the Roman era, in particular the layout of the ancient road that connected the colony of Rimini to the city of Arezzo (Via Aleminisis), as well as a group of tombs dating back to the same era.
Andrea Aureli, President of the Scm Group, said: “The inauguration of the new Hiteco headquarters confirms the Group’s desire to continue investing in the sector in which it was born more than 70 years ago and to gain new market shares, even in sectors such as industrial mechatronics components, which are characterized by significant growth rates”. The event was also attended by the municipal, provincial and regional authorities, among whom the Councillor for Economic Development, Vincenzo Colla, praised “the new investment of the Scm Group, which confirms the desire to continue to compete at a high level in the world, taking pride in producing high-quality products, increasingly technologically advanced and sustainable, while consolidating the relationship with the local community, which is the privilege of an Emilia-Romagna company”. The final words: “You have made nine hundred million in turnover, now you have to round it up and reach a billion!”, laughter and applause. The Mayor of Rimini, Jamil Sadegholvaad, added: “When a company invests through research and innovation, strengthens itself, broadens its horizons and achieves these goals, we are faced with community value”. “With this opening, the Scm Group confirms its leading position in the field of industrial investment, allowing it to compete on a global scale. We recognize that quality and being ‘one step ahead of others’ are the elements that define excellence, thus bringing well-being, jobs and great future prospects to hundreds of people”
