Amateur golf tournament to be held in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 13. The 10th Nepal Amateur Golf Championship, organized by the Nepal Golf Association, will be held in Kathmandu.

The 10th Amateur Golf Championship will be held from May 29 to 31 under the aegis of the National Sports Council and Nepal Tourism Board, it was informed in a press conference held on Sunday.

This is a major amateur tournament held in Nepal.

The three-day tournament will be held at the Gokarna Forest Golf Club in Kathmandu with a par of 72.

The tournament will be played over three days and will include 54 holes. Players from five countries will participate: Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka.

Likewise, there will be a separate women’s tournament, with golfers from three countries – Nepal, India and Sri Lanka – set to play.

A total of 52 golfers participated in the competition, including 40 men and 12 women.

Players who advance after 36 holes in both the men’s and women’s competitions will enter the final stage.

Likewise, the men’s team events will also be played in one match. A team can consist of 2 players. Organizers will be allowed to keep two teams.

Sadbhav Acharya and Tashi Chiring will be from Nepal A, Wangchen Dhondup and Rahul Vishwakarma from Nepal B, Shat Mishra and Sumit Kotwal from India, Nim Dorjee Tamang from Bhutan and Shahav Uddin and MD Abubakar Siddique from Bangladesh.

The event is also supported by Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Royal Singi Hotel.
