The YSRCP urged the court: “Not considering the reply given by the YSRCP to the CRDA vide the interim order issued by it in document No. MAU61-DP0VIJ (UAC)/25/2024-DP dated 10.06.2024 as illegal, arbitrary, unconstitutional and violative of the principles of natural justice and therefore directing the CRDA not to demolish the structures and pass such other orders as the court deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case”.

On Saturday, the YSRCP issued a statement saying, “The demolition of the YSRCP party’s central office in Tadepalli, which was under construction, was carried out despite the High Court’s order to demolish it. This is the first time in the history of the state that a party office has been demolished. In an unprecedented move, the demolition work began around 5:30 am using excavators and bulldozers.

The court maintained that the demolition work continued despite the fact that the YSRCP had moved the high court a day earlier challenging the CRDA’s initial action. “The court had ordered a halt to any demolition activities and the YSRCP’s counsel had conveyed this order to the CRDA commissioner. However, the CRDA went ahead with the demolition, which may amount to contempt of court,” the court added.

“The demolished building was prepared for slab laying before being razed to the ground. CRDA’s defiance of the High Court directive may now come under further legal scrutiny,” the YSRCP statement concluded.
