Despite the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, residential migration has continued to follow the trend of recent years. In 2020, one in ten households moved. Three in ten movers moved to a new home within two kilometres of their old home. These local moves were more common in functional centres than in the commuter areas of these centres.
On average, seven out of ten evictions in major functional center areas occurred within the center itself. This proportion was even higher when households moved in as homeowners.
Relocations within the same functional center area mostly occur between two neighborhoods with similar or similar living standards.
