The people of Dhaka do not celebrate the Muslim festivals of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. Today Mohammad Shahim Ali Sayyed.
Painting is common when Eid al-Fitr and Aza Eid are celebrated in different parts of Sri Lanka.
Shaheem posted on Facebook that painting during Eid is not Dhivehi culture. He said Dhvehi culture is pouring water during Eid.
When asked whether sprinkling water on Eid is religious, Shahim said it is a custom of the people and is not contradictory to religion.
“Watering is allowed during Eid,” Shahim said.
Shaheem said in a post yesterday that the two Eids blessed by Allah are the symbol of this Ummah. Of the two festivals, Eid is held after the obligatory fasting, which is the pillar of Islam. Eid al-Adha is held after the Hajj.

Eid celebrations should be held in accordance with Islamic principles. Mohammed Mueedzu also made the request. He also urged people not to incorporate “filler” traditions that are incompatible with Islamic morality and the fine customs of the people into the joy of Eid.
