The Aurus Senat is the official car of the Russian president, with retro styling modeled after the Soviet-era ZIL limousine, and Putin rode in it for his most recent inauguration at the Kremlin in May.
Putin showed Kim one of the cars during his visit to eastern Russia last September. Kim sat next to Putin in the car and seemed to like it.
Kim Jong-un has a large collection of foreign luxury cars, which are likely smuggled in because a United Nations Security Council resolution bans the export of luxury goods to North Korea.
He was spotted driving a Maybach limousine, several Mercedes-Benz cars, a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Lexus SUV.
Russia will start production of the Aurus luxury sedan this year at a former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg, a senior Russian official said last month.
According to Russian analytical agency Autostat, 40 Aurus-branded cars have been sold in Russia so far this year.
