Krzysztof Salai-Bobrovnicki explained that the Territorial Defense Reserve was created several years ago and is currently being developed within the framework of the Hungarian Defense Forces, adding that last year, in addition to the first two regiments, five regiments were created with independent commands.

Our professional soldiers equipped with the most modern weapons are stationed at bases across the country, while our seven reserve regiments cover the country like capillaries. The Minister explained that the homeland defense reservists equipped with light weapons complement and assist the tasks of the professionals.

A I love you and I protect you! In the Territorial Defense Reserve, soldiers are recruited locally, receive basic training near their place of residence and are given the task of preparing to protect their surroundings in various ways – the minister explained the details.

He added that men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 can apply to join the reserve regiment, where they undergo basic training and are called up for at least one week of maintenance training and exercises every year.

Krzysztof Salai Bobrovnitsky of Radio Kossuth Good morning Hungary! It stated that the previous Government between 2002 and 2010 irresponsibly allowed the armed forces to reach a state where by the end of 2010 there were only 17 volunteer reservists (the last conscript was demobilized on 3 November 2004), ie they did not fully take care of the reserve component.

He stressed that this system began to develop slowly after 2010 and it was a long process. Speaking about the economic benefits of reservists, the head of the ministry said that under the new package they will receive 600,000 forints per year, i.e. 50,000 forints per month after basic training, 150,000 forints in contract fees and a referral bonus of 500,000 forints gross if the new members he recruits complete basic training.
