Calling all dads on the island! We invite you to join us at the Dads Connect event at July 2, 2024, 6 p.m., Roundhouse, Bradan.
Following the success of the fathers’ survey initiated by the midwifery team, Manx Care recognised that fathers on the Isle of Man needed support – working in partnership with the community, as Ockenden suggested.
The event is open to all those who have taken the survey, fathers who have questions and anyone who feels they could benefit from guidance. Nearly 20 community organisations have signed up to the event to discuss and set up “Dads Groups” to provide help, assistance and facilities across the island.
Provide directions to the venue.
Liza Munro, registered midwife, commented:
“We encourage any new dads who might be feeling a little lost or overwhelmed to attend a ‘Dads Connect’ event so we can discuss and help pave the way to support you and your family. In the past our focus has been on supporting birthing parents and we are really keen to extend and share knowledge and promote healthy lifestyles for dads. It’s also a chance for dads to connect with each other and potentially develop new friendships – you are not alone.”
