On Sunday, June 9, 2024, the Vieux Fort Police Department, in partnership with the Tactical Response Unit, conducted an operation in the Bruceville neighborhood of Vieux Fort. The operation was designed to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms and ammunition on the streets.
During the operation, police searched the home of a 43-year-old Bruceville resident. They were able to recover a 9mm handgun, four magazines, and fifty-two rounds of ammunition from the immediate area. The resident was detained for questioning in response to the discovery of the items, but was subsequently released pending further investigation.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force commends the efforts of its officers and remains committed to enhancing community safety. The public is encouraged to support the RSLPF’s initiatives and promptly report any suspicious activities.
