Xavi Hernandez has been sacked as Barcelona head coach.
The 44-year-old was sacked today following a meeting with Barcelona president John Laporta and sporting director Deco.
Xavi joined Barcelona in the middle of the 2021 season. The following season, Barcelona won the Spanish League title under Xavi’s leadership. However, Barcelona did not win any trophies under his leadership this season.

Xavi’s final game in charge will be against Sevilla on Sunday evening.
After firing Xavi, Barcelona decided to appoint former Bayern Munich champion Hansi Flick, who won the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League with Bayern.
After his success at Bayern, Flick took over as head coach of the German team. However, his results with the German team were not good. Under his leadership, the German team only won 12 of 25 games.
