Sri Lanka ranked 201st after defeat by Netherlands

After Dutch captain Scott Edwards won the toss and chose to bat first in the final league stage match of the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Sri Lankan batsman displayed great batting skills to lose six wickets for 201 runs.

The match was held at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia.

Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka scored 46 runs each, Dhananjaya de Silva scored 34 runs, while captain Hasaranga and Mathwes scored 20 and 30 runs respectively to cap the innings.

Logan van Beek was the standout bowler, taking two wickets, but he conceded 45 runs in four overs.

If the Netherlands wins this game by a large margin and Bangladesh loses to Nepal, the Netherlands can still advance to the Super 8.

Sri Lanka has been knocked out.
