Sara Ali Khan to essay the role of freedom fighter Usha Mehta in Karan Johar’s next film Aye Watan Mere Watan.
A source close to the makers of the film also reportedly spoke about this, “Sara had signed the film earlier this year. Now that she has completed her other commitments, the film will begin shooting in a few weeks.”
“She’s been preparing for the film and is very excited to be playing a real-life character for the first time.”
The film is bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Entertainment and will be released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
The film will outline Usha Mehta’s freedom struggle through founding the underground radio station Congress Radio.
In addition, Aye Watan Mere Watan, Another biopic based on Usha Mehta, Radio Freedom, is also in the works.
