Boston’s Hook Slaya Records has entered the single “This is How We Roll” in two categories at this year’s Grammy Awards.
The song, performed by Buju Banton, Capleton and BL tha Hook Slaya, has been submitted for the Best Global Music Act award and is part of an album submitted for the Best Reggae Album award.
The music video for “This is How We Roll” is currently streaming on BET Jamz, with the song ranking No. 2 on the US iTunes Reggae Songs Chart. The film was released in April this year.
BL Tha Hook Slayer, aka Bryan LaMontagne, expressed his excitement about collaborating with these reggae icons. “Working with Buju and Capleton is an absolute dream come true and it means a lot on so many levels,” he said. As a multi-platinum selling American music producer, BL stressed the importance of staying authentic to dancehall music and believes that This Is How We Roll showcases his commitment to the genre.
“This record is so beautifully crafted and I look forward to seeing it spread across the globe. It’s a fantastic record and we’re excited for future collaborations with these and other legends,” added BL Tha Hook Slayer.
