On June 10, Emperor Naruhito welcomed Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg at the Imperial Palace, their first meeting in a decade.

The Emperor attended Archduke Guillaume’s wedding in 2012, and the two met again in 2014 during Prince Guillaume’s visit to Japan.

This week, Emperor Naruhito congratulated the Crown Prince on the birth of his second son, due in 2023. After a 20-minute conversation, the two men entered a private salon, where they were joined by Empress Masako and Princess Aiko.

Prince Guillaume invited the Emperor to visit Luxembourg in 2027 to celebrate the centenary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Next, Crown Prince Fumihito had dinner with Crown Prince Fumihito and his family at the Akihito Residence.

The Prince of Luxembourg, led by Luxembourg’s Minister of Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Drais, paid an official economic visit to Japan, the last day of which was dominated by the Luxembourg-Japan Business Forum and the signing of several cooperation agreements related to the space sector.
