Former village council chairman Mohammed Rashid called for a halt to the former Ihawandu road construction project.
Rashid expressed his concerns and accusations on social media. Rashid said that the pipes (grey pipes) brought by the previous government to build roads in the village were toll pipes. C Ihavan field officials were informed that these pipes were installed on the road.
“The original pipes (black pipes) were buried in this government but councillors are painting their mouths. The only work being done is road construction. The good quality pipes (brown pipes) have been brought to the village and started on the streets.
In a post shared on Facebook, Rashid said:
Furthermore, the works had not stopped even though the pipeline was empty, he regretted that the original toll pipeline (light black) was being laid and called for an immediate halt to the works.

“The RDC brought two types of pipes in one consignment. After speaking to the RDC, the commission rejected the pipes. The commission has assured that the correct pipes will be used.
Ahmed Sabah, the current chairman of the Ihawandu Committee, said this in response to Theiladun’s questions about the pipeline issue.
The Ihavandu road construction project was launched in February this year.
Under the project, 15 roads in Ihavandu will be paved and developed as per modern standards. The RDC said the road will be developed to modern standards and a drainage system will be installed. Once the road is completed, signs will be painted and street lights will be installed.
On the day the construction work officially started, RDC said the project is expected to be completed within the next six months. The Ihavan road construction project was awarded to RDC in April 2022 at a cost of Rs 102 million.
