Entering the closed road has caused two MGP visitors to lose nearly £3,000.

Russell John Gray, 68, of Ennismore Mews, London, and Yeesan Chin, 66, of St Philip Street, appeared before deputy senior executive judge Rachael Braidwood.

The pair were arrested yesterday after walking twice on a stretch of road between Tynwald Hill and Barracklan.

The court heard the area was not part of the race track but was covered by a road closure.

They were each fined £1,400 and ordered to pay £125 in prosecution costs.

Both were ordered to pay the money immediately or spend 70 days in jail.
