In Mors, Germany, a man who was apparently armed with two knives was shot dead by police after allegedly attacking passers-by. According to police, officials in the North Rhine-Westphalia city were alerted today because an unidentified man had apparently physically assaulted and threatened several passers-by. Duisburg police explained that according to preliminary findings, the man then “attacked the police while holding two knives.” The police then used a gun to shoot the attacker to death.
Information shows that the attacker is a 26-year-old German. No one else was injured in the incident.
On the orders of the Kleve prosecutor’s office, the Duisburg criminal police set up a murder commission. An investigation into the criminal background is ongoing, the statement said.
