Digital literacy summer training course begins

The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP), in partnership with the Taiwan Technology Mission, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Division and the Bank of Saint Lucia, is currently conducting digital literacy summer training courses in various communities across the island. The program aims to equip young people aged 13 to 16 with essential digital skills, foster their interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and develop important life skills.

Held in different communities, these courses aim to bridge the digital divide and equip participants with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Training covers a range of topics including basic computer skills, cybersecurity, coding and digital communications, ensuring participants have a comprehensive understanding of digital literacy.

Through hands-on learning and interactive activities, the program not only improves participants’ technical skills, but also promotes critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. After the training, young people will be better equipped to handle the digital environment, opening up new opportunities for their future.

As the course progressed, the enthusiasm and engagement of the participants was very positive, reflecting the impact of the program in shaping a digitally literate and empowered generation.
