Due to the IT issues caused by CrowdStrike, Microsoft decided to hold a cybersecurity conference in September. The meeting will discuss possible steps to improve network security systems.

The meeting marks Microsoft’s first major move on the issue, which was triggered by a CrowdStrike update on July 19 that affected 8.5 million Windows devices and caused major disruptions to airlines, banks and the healthcare industry.

The conference will be held on September 10 at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington. It will also feature major companies and some technology executives from the US and other governments.

Many businesses have suffered heavy losses. Delta Air Lines said the scandal cost it at least $500 million and is taking legal action against CrowdStrike and Microsoft.

Crowdstrike lost $9 billion in market value. Shareholders have filed a lawsuit against the company.
