The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has advised people not to buy 15 medicines produced and sold in Thailand.
The MFDA has received a ban notice on 15 drugs from the Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) of Thailand due to the presence of hazardous chemicals in the excipients used by Thai pharmaceutical company Seven Star Pharmaceuticals to produce the drugs.
These banned drugs are not on the list of drugs allowed to be imported and sold in Sri Lanka.
However, Thailand is the country where Dhanvantaris seek medical treatment and in some cases, they import medicines for their own purposes.
Additionally, as a precautionary measure, special attention will be paid to the importation of pharmaceutical products into the city.
