Kathmandu, August 7. An Indian bus fell into the Marsyandi River in Tanahunam Buhareni, leaving 15 passengers unconscious, according to the Ministry of Interior.
Dr Bhishma Kumar Bhusal, director of the ministry’s disaster management department, said information had been sent from the area where 15 people were unconscious.
This morning, a bus with Indian license plates travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu fell into Marsyangdi from a place called Ambukhaaireni Ainapahara. According to the Tanahun District Police Station, the passenger bus with number UP 53 FT 7623 was involved in the accident.
The bus was seen in bad condition from the road near the Marsyangdi shore. A rescue team including Nepali police, armed police divers have been deployed to the accident site.
The injured have been rescued and taken to Damauli District Hospital. The process of referring them is also going on. According to Dr. Busar, a helicopter is also ready to take him to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Currently, work is still going on to expand the Pokhara-Muglin road, but road travel is difficult due to occasional landslides.
Earlier, on June 28, two buses fell into the Trishuli River and more than 30 passengers, including Indians, went missing.
