The Sri Lankan fishing boat surfaced and slid ashore.

A young man from Makondu told Theiladun that the ship landed 5 miles west of the village.

The boat is floating in the northern region. Today, the Macondu people went to the area where the boat is located. The boat was carrying fish and a lot of ice. The engine was blown away.

The ship will sink tomorrow morning.

Yesterday, the Sri Lankan Defence Force warned seafarers to remain alert as a Sri Lankan fishing boat was adrift in the Haflong Sea, 39 nautical miles west of Vangaar.

The ship was abandoned due to engine problems. As winds are blowing from the west and northwest, the ship is expected to approach Dhaka with floodwaters.

The National Defence Force has advised vessels sailing in the area to be particularly mindful of this, especially those sailing at night.
