Pakistan’s Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb said BYD’s entry into the Pakistani market is of great significance and is expected to usher in a new era of environmentally friendly transportation.
The minister expressed this stance today while attending the BYD brand launch event in Pakistan and delivering the keynote speech at the event.
BYD is a global leader in electric vehicles and renewable energy solutions.
Senator Mohammad Aurangzeb welcomed BYD and stressed the company’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and environmental stewardship.
He said BYD’s entry into our market is not just to launch new vehicles but to embrace a sustainable future and align with Pakistan’s environmental goals of achieving energy efficiency.
Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb further stressed that the government is committed to supporting such initiatives which will not only promote the development of green technologies but will also provide a huge boost to the local economy by creating new jobs and promoting technological advancement in the automotive industry.
He said the presence of a major global player like BYD could enhance Pakistan’s export potential in the booming electric vehicle market and was in line with Pakistan’s national strategy to increase high-tech exports and reduce trade imbalances.
The Minister also said that the government and industry stakeholders should work together to introduce such innovations to contribute to the country’s achievement of sustainable development goals and economic stability in the coming years.
