UNICEF said on Sunday that child malnutrition rates are soaring in government-controlled areas of Yemen, citing the latest report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) initiative. UNICEF said the rise in malnutrition is “a result of a combination of disease outbreaks (cholera and measles), high levels of food insecurity, limited access to safe drinking water and economic decline.”
