The government has decided to add an additional Rs 30 million to the budget for strengthening the rehabilitation system.
The announcement was made by National Drug Authority (NDA) Chairman and Land Minister Lubna Mohammed Zahir Hussain.
Speaking at a ceremony held by the drug court to honour and encourage 419 graduates of the rehabilitation programme, Lubna said the government has increased spending to strengthen the rehabilitation treatment system.
Lubna also asked state-owned enterprises to help those who complete drug treatment find jobs.
The rehabilitation programme is being organised by the NDA with a budget of Rs 11.7 crore this year.
