Kathmandu, July 32. The list of players and coaches for the inaugural Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWVL) franchise volleyball league has been announced.

Six teams will participate in the league, which is being organized by Infinity Dreams in collaboration with the Nepal Volleyball Association. The organizers announced the list of players and coaches of the six Nepalese teams through a press release on Friday.

In the first edition, franchise teams from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Gandaki, Madhesh and Karnali have participated. Madhesh and Chitwan have also announced their names. Madhesh United and Chinwat Shakti have been named. The organizers have announced the key players for all the six participating teams.

National captain Aruna Shahi is the key player for Chitwan Shakti, while Saraswati Chaudhary Gandaki, Salina Shrestha Lalitpur, Niruta Thagunna Madhesh, Usha Bhandari Kathmandu and Sumitra Regmi are the key players for Karnali.

On Friday, the list of 8-8 Nepali players and coaches for each team, including the marquee, was announced. Each team will have a total of 12 players. Now each team can only retain 3 foreign players, while one player must be retained through the discovery of local talents. After placing foreign players and players through talent selection, the team will be complete.

Players including marquee are divided into three categories. Among them, only big-name players in category A will receive 100,000 to 50,000 in cash.

Likewise, each team consists of 4-4 players from Category B and 3-3 players from Category C. Category B players will receive 100,000 cash and Category C players will receive 50,000 cash.
