The northbound route will be open to traffic from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. five days a week (Monday to Friday) and will remain closed on weekends due to remaining work on the project.

The second section of the coastal road will be opened to the public on Tuesday, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation announced on Sunday.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will inspect the second underground tunnel of the Dharmaveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Mumbai Coastal Road (South) on June 10. The northbound tunnel will be opened for traffic from June 11 after the inspection by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

The northbound route will be open to traffic five days a week (Monday to Friday) from 7am to 11pm and will be closed on weekends due to the remaining work on the project.

The coastal route will enable people to travel northwards from Marine Drive to Bhulabhai Desai Marg, Barrister Rajani Patel Chowk (Lotus Pier) and Vatsalabai Desai Chowk (Haji Ali Chowk).

The Mumbai Municipal Corporation also plans to open the stretch up to Bindumadhav Thackeray Chowk by July 10 to make travelling northwards easier through the Mumbai Coastal Road project.
