Sri Lanka’s First Lady and Chief Guide, Ms. Sajida Mohammed, said that the greatest happiness of every child should be to build a beautiful name for the country. She made the remarks during a meeting with guides and leaders of the Maldives Girl Guides Association at the Ceylon Camp.
Sri Lanka’s First Lady and Chief Guide, Ms. Sajida Mohammed, while meeting with guides, leaders and parents of children participating in the Ceylon Summer Camp 2024, said that Girl Scouting is an activity to empower girls. It is a movement of education, morality, skills and awareness.

She said Girl Scout activities would teach additional learning and teaching skills that should be utilized. She said the purpose of such camps was to encourage each participant to respect their own ethnic and religious identity and to strengthen their ability to respect the personality of others.
“Religious care and love for the good of the country should be the greatest joy of every child. A child who grows up with such awareness and care will become a star in the national sky. A child of success in life. This is the energy that your parents and this country expect you to provide for the country and all humanity,” the first lady said.

344 members from 38 schools including 305 guides are attending the Ceylon camp. The camp will be held from 18th to 23rd of this month.
