Navalnaya said Navalny’s relatives and supporters plan to continue investigating the events. He did not disclose how he had discovered the series of events he described in his message, according to Reuters.

Authorities told Navalny’s lawyers the same day that the cause of the opposition leader’s death had not yet been determined and that the results of the investigation would be completed in the coming weeks.

The Russian investigative journalist Sotaproject channel reported in February this year, citing its own sources, that Navalny had been gradually poisoned in captivity since August last year. According to the channel, the information was based both on sources within the Russian Investigative Committee and on information from Navalny’s close circle.

The channel said it received its information from two senior sources in Russia’s Investigative Committee.
